First I heard of a 2600 was in a Tepe's catalog which listed it at $299.
I
think the catalog was out before the system was officially released so I
don't know for sure if it actually sold for that price at the very
beginning. The regular old selling price for a long time was $199 and
that
was the target price I was saving up for. By the time I hit $150, Toys R
Us
put it on sale for $150...I was very happy to get it early.
