Tech: Centipede power/audio board

by Steve <dinunski@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Apr 15, 2008 at 08:06 AM

I have a centipede that is not working. I bought a tested working
board and it gives me the same results as the non-working board
(thought to be non-working I should say). Anyhow, I have two power/
audio boards. I tested the voltages on these and found that one is
missing the -36VAC and the other is missing the -5VDC (Actually this
one is showing a much higher - voltage). This has led me to beleive
that these boards are the problem and not the main cpu board. Anyone
have a suggestion on which part/parts I should replace to fix this?
Or an easy way to test the parts to verify which part/parts are bad?
I need to stop being so lazy and fix it. I figured this would cause
the CPU not to boot up so this is where I am at. All other voltages
on the boards appear to be reading just fine. Any help would be
greatly appreciated. Also, if you have any suggestion on what else to
test before I start replacing things that would be fine too. Of
course the CPU led comes on and the led's on the cp come on and stay
on as well. Thanks.
