i was obsessed with the 3do. i think i was 12 when it hit and i just
couldn't believe how good the graphics were.. i was a kid used to NES
and SNES and when i played need for speed for the first time i was blown
away.. i'd seen some crappy video on DOS games before, but when i hooked
up that giant panasonic 3do (via RF!) and tuned it in and i saw that
intro video... i know FMV is a joke these days but it was mind blowing..
i thought i'd tuned it into a tv channel !
and the game was so immersive for the time, i played until i had a
blister on my thumb from that god-awful controller..
i also thought mad dog mcree and total eclipse were the best games ever,
but they're absolute dogs... need for speed is probably the only one
worth playing today, and even then only for nostalgic purposes
