I am continuing to try for the fastest V win possible.  I got sick of
rangers
so I decided to try a rogue.  This is a pretty typical deep char for me. 
It
is too late to change my mind for this game, but now is the time to plan
for
the next.

I spent two extended periods of time without spells.  A single time breath
dropped my int to where I had 95% minimum failure rates, and also once I
could
not avoid a ghost.  No !rInt for sale all game, of course.  Those times
would
have been easier to deal with, if I had more int.

Would I be better off trying a different race, perhaps a high-elf, rather
than
a half-troll?  I figure hp are far more important than anything else, but
perhaps it would be nice to be able to try to use the temp speed boost
from a
spellbook.  I've seen 1 _speed and 3 !speed so far in the game.  I guess
that
is also fairly typical to get to this depth.  A dunadan would be best
here,
but it is hard to get through the early levels without infravision, and I
don't even know whether I could start one with 3 blows.

I've got SI from my equipment, pretty typical, so the tradeoff besides
stats
is rLight from high-elf vs sStr and regen and a couple cLevels.  I seem to
be
doing ok with respect to magical device skill, unlike a half-troll
warrior.

Looking at the dump, got FA at 2250', and managed rBase at 2900'. 
Everything
was coming with rFire, the Thanc and the first Paur and first excellent
armor
and even Carlammas.
