stupid asymmetric LOS

by Eddie Grove <eddiegrove@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Apr 18, 2008 at 12:22 AM

This started as a post asking what the heck happened, but I figured it out
just before sending it.

I was clearing a lesser vault "interlock". I used a wand of cold balls on
a
master rogue standing on a couple items in the corner. The situation was
something like this.

The cold ball killed the rogue and I got a message that some armor
"disappears". There must have been someone on the open door, and the cold
ball killed it using one form of LOS, but the drop could not "see" the
corner
square using reverse LOS.

I think it would be nice if there were occasional holes in strings of
features
in vaults to allow for drops, e.g. removing the topmost trap in the
diagram,
but perhaps destroying drops is the point of the status quo [where often
long
sections of corridors are entirely filled with traps].
