Thanks to my friend Zop from the Furyband forums, Norseband is slowly
moving towards an alpha version (which I'll upload to the variant
homepage as soon as it's playable). I've been tweaking the text files
to remove any out-of-theme references, some of which are harder to
rewrite than others. Substituting "Norseband" for other variant names,
and one of the end villains' names for "Morgoth", is easy enough. But
what should I do about *these* messages, other than deleting them?
--What did you do with the Phial? [no obvious artifact suggests itself
here]
--You need your chocolate vitamin! [not only out-of-theme, but just
too weird]
--Tornado Warning! [ummm, not in Scandinavia...]
--Warp Factor Nine. Now! [blatantly out-of-theme, best replaced by a
whole new line]
If any of you have suggestions that are funny, short, and appropriate
to the new theme--please post them here. I'll use the best four in the
official version, and give contributors a place in the credits file.
