I was going to say: buy the scrolls; leave the staff. But now that I
see your race, I'm not as sure. With good stealth and good
infravision, I almost never get caught really needing the staff until
quite a bit deeper. With Detect Monsters and a light rod, you should
be OK.
What I would buy:
6 ?to_dam
=SI (?)
6 ?tele_lev
2 spare ?recall
1 !Heal
2 !Hero
2 ?Recall
5 !CSW if available.
Some shots.
Some ID.
Save ?to_dam for cl 20, then use them on the best long-bow you've
found.
Of course, I have never come close to a 250K turn win, so what do I
know.
