I'm new to the game, and after a few horrible deaths, I have my
current ranger up to level 15.
My question is concerning items. I have a vague understanding of what
the numbers after an item name do, but I can't tell when an item is
better than another....
For example
Beaked Axe (2d6) (+2, +4)
or
Two Handed Sword (3d6)
I know that the beaked axe has +2 to hit, and +4 to damage.
Which item is better? Is the +4 damage applied to each die? Would
that make it 1d6+4, 1d6+4?
My other question is how do I know how fast a weapon is? I have seen
some good crossbows, but people say they are slower...how do I tell??
Last thing...on the heavier armors they have a penalty to hit. Is
this going to matter at level 15?
Thanks for all the help.
