Kind of a shame. I just updated svn, recompiled, and went back down
to 4950'. The first critter I saw was Saruman, who this time actually
dropped useful stuff. (No more Wands of Clone Monster and Rings of
Feather Falling.)
One of his drops was Calris, although using it would (will?) require
several buyouts of the Alchemist. Calris does a more respectable 455
dam/turn, including criticals.
