Wow, poison immunity so early is pretty lucky. If you have a good
jeweller, it might be worth selling, but likely not.

This depends on the dungeon type. What kind of monsters were guarding
it? You're likely to find more of the same. What does the area around
the stairs look like? Square structures mean more civilized monsters.
Also, you can guess something from the type of dungeon floor.
>and also what sort of level I should be able to dive to safely?
Can't say for certain, but you could probably dive some. After you've
killed some in-depth monsters you can estimate whether to dive more.
Try to keep a certain challenge up; Z doesn't have any major breakpoints
that I've noticed, and deeper means better items.
I usually clear levels (small levels on) of most monsters (some aren't
worth it) and dive 50'-100' between recall. This usually suffices until
somewhere between 2500'-3000', when I've mostly completed statgain and
am level 30-40, after which I start to dive faster and pick my fights
more carefully. Of course, I'm a somewhat more experienced player...

Z has useful shops. Remember to buy better-class ego items or randarts
if you see good ones. (Single Slays or Resists aren't worth it.) When
most slots are filled with useful egos, start buying stat potions;
you can get them for 12-14k at regular shops when they have them.
A modern Z character shouldn't have over 50k AU until sometime past
level 30...
>g) a Soft Studded Leather [5,+0]
You can pick up a Hagaromo (sustain all & levitation) for a few
thousand AU, or try to collect 20-30k for a decent randart.
A Hagaromo of Resist Acid (or Resistance, if you're lucky)
is TEH WIN for a early character.
>l) a Pair of Metal Shod Boots of Free Action [6,+2] {cursed}
Probably pretty heavy. Might be worth selling as soon as you get
similar AC from another source. FA gloves are easily obtainable.
>e) The Set of Leather Gloves of the Ogre (+6,+30%) [1,+6] (+3)
Yeah, these hinder spellcasting, which sucks, but they are easy
to enchant and give +1 to Str and Con per +2 to AC enchantment.
Might be worth using as a swap, though as a ranger you should
be mostly shooting...

Otto Martin - one day I'll get to answering that spellcasting question

"What's that?" "Dark choclate. S'heavenly."
"I thought you said you were on a new diet plan?" "I am."
"What kind of diet plan lets you pig out ... ?" "Exercise."
