Alas, in spite of your brave efforts, any form of causing damage beyond
throwing coins is outside the restrictions of the challenge - using wands
is
thus forbidden. Good run though - I think you could have a good shot at
the
challenge if you had Find Weakness. Of course that leaves open a little
dilemna - start as a dark elf for Find Weakness and high dex, or start as
a
Hurthling for Archery (which opens up a couple of very useful missile
talents). Perhaps a few tips on things that could help your game (based
on
other peoples efforts I should point out):
-Dexterity is the most im****tant stat for melee to hit and damage. It's
im****tant to make use of moss of mareilon and to equip any items that
improve Dex.
-Raven starsign gives some much-needed speed, and also gives the trident
early. Can't use it as a weapon of course, but the dexterity bonus is a
huge help.
-Find Weakness vastly improves criticals, meaning it's quite essential for
the likes of the Ancient Stone Beast and the balors. If you don't start
with it you'll want to wish for it.
-Potion-specialists start with Alchemy, which can be handy for a few
homebrew potions of blindness and extra healing (and possibly even PoGA).
No offensive alchemy allowed unfortunately.
-The various missile talents are a huge help, since the damage from
coin-throwing is overall quite weak. The range talents don't work
unfortunately, but the lower energy cost ones do (coin-throwing costs 1200
energy points so this is quite im****tant). Boomerangs doesn't count
towards
Missile Weapon Master when you go for that.
Corruption was obviously a big problem for you though - I guess attempting
the Rift might have helped, but that can be quite dangerous.
Pool-s***ming
might net an AoLS, but building up the necessary piety to deal with
dooming
can be trouble without livesacs.
