You can play full screen, but IMO your best option is ADOM Sage
frontend (www.jbc.edu/~josh/adom-sage/). Apart from giving you more
freedom in manipulating how the window/fonts look, it has a number of
neat options such as color-coded messages for various events so that you
do not miss them, automatic swap of places with non-hostile monsters in
towns etc.
Have fun. I've been throughly spoiled by the guidebook, so perhaps I do
not remember correctly, but I believe there is very little info on
alignment/gods/altars in the manual. This is an im****tant part of the
game, so take not what is happening and try figure it out. Remember you
can pray for all sorts of things, provided you're in good standing with
your God.
