Monsters can only sacrifice on altars of their own alignment. So chaotic
monsters can only sac on black altars, neutrals on grey altars and lawfuls
(just dwarves really) on white altars. Most enemies are chaotic
obviously,
making black altars extremely dangerous. Neutral altars are safe if you
yourself are neutral. But if you're L or C then doppelgangers, swordsmen,
ratlings and barbarians (amongst others) can sac you on grey altars.
