Sorry I haven't read or played SR4. We are still using SR3. Unless
they changed it in SR4, a mage can use one of the services the spirit
owes the summoner to order the spirit to obey another character
(magical or mundane) as its master. The only restriction is that a
mundane cannot use the spirit to cast spells, but they get all the
services that a mage gets.
