Perhaps the main problem with cyberpunk is that it's being overtaken
by reality. Both technologically and sociologically. Democratic
governments all over the world become increasingly repressive, while
the internet, and mobile communications technology, has grown far
beyond the original cyberpunk visions (but without the VR). Perhaps
the problem with the bleak vision of the future that cyberpunk presents
is that it reminds us just a bit too much of our own world?
