Hello,
You're getting this e-mail because you were a member of the ShadowRN
mailing list in the past year or so according to the messages I kept
from that list. I'm aware that sending this out to a large number of
people at once just might amount to spam, but I'm willing to take that
risk :) If you're not interested in what I have to say below, then
please accept my apologies for wasting your time, but I would ask you to
read it first before deciding to trash this message.
The reason I'm writing you is because I want ShadowRN back. As I'm sure
I don't need to tell any of you, I used to be a fairly active member of
that list, and even though in recent years it was nowhere near as busy
as it used to be, I feel it shouldn't simply die because of a DOS attack
(or whatever happened exactly).
It's been down for almost six months now, and if you go and check
http://lists.dumpshock.com/mailman/listinfo/shadowrn
you'll find that
there's still "No such list shadowrn" -- and, in fact, the same goes for
several web sites formerly hosted at dumpshock.com but which are still
advertised on the front page.
I tried contacting the dumpshock admins about this over a month ago, but
didn't get any replies to my questions about them either putting the
list back up, or about allowing me to host it elsewhere.
That brings me to the question I want to ask all of you: do you want
ShadowRN to get back up too, or don't you care about it anymore? If the
dumpshock crew don't have the time and/or inclination to ressurrect it,
I do have the ability to host it, and would certainly be willing to do
so. However, before taking this step I first want to see if there's any
interest remaining, and hopefully hear the opinions of the current
listowners about this plan.
As I said before, if you're not interested, then I apologize for wasting
your time. If you are interested, don't hesitate to write back to me
with ideas, concerns, thoughts, or anything else related to this :) I'd
also appreciate it if you could spread the word among people you knew
were on ShadowRN, but who may not have received this message -- like I
said, I was going by saved messages so only about 25 people are actually
getting this.
Thanks.
