Think Tank 1.0
April 11th 2007
Concept: To create a cyberpunk roleplaying game using a modified
version of Delbert Laird's MARAUDER: 2107 system.. This will be a new,
unique game, with possible optional elements provided in future
supplements.
It will differ from Shadowrun in that this world-setting will focus
only on the technological aspect of the 'Cyberpunk' genre, with no
optional characters races available other than humans. I will retain
the use of character 'concepts' allowing the player to build a
character around a certain role.
I intend to use both real-world and fictional corporations and
products within the world-setting, with appropriate changes made to
the Shadowtech Compendium (from my Shadowrun conversion using this
rules-set) and Blackhands' Weapons Guide.
World-setting: Set in 2037 (and onward), corporations have become
like small governments unto themselves (i..e. The
"extraterritoriality" of Shadowrun, as with the genre as a whole),
tech is ch=ECc, and information is power.
While all of this is pretty much static as per the genre in question,
there will be aspects that are unique.
Corporations: The following is a list of the major corporate entities
within the worldsetting.
Rand Technologies
Main Office: San Fernando, California
Primary product/Service: Computers, Electronics
Subsidiaries: Visions (Computer hardware retail chain)
Centurion Arms
Main Office: Knoxville, Tennessee
Primary Product/Service: Civilian/Law Enforcement/Mislpec firearms
Subsidiaries: Aegis Security
Brinks-Tyson security
Main Office: Chicago, Illinois
Primary product/Service: Security contracts, law enforcement
Kirisaki Motor Corporation
Main Office: Honsho, Japan
Primary product/Service: Civilian vehicle manufacturer
Harrison Enterprises
Main Office: Seattle, Washington
Primary Product/Service: Various retail goods, Software
Subsidiaries: Icarus (Department retail chain),
Datex (Software company)
Character Concepts
The usual suspects: Deckers, street samurai, mercenaries, 'riggers',
nomads, fringers, etc.
Couriers: Think Jonny Mnemonic. Played properly, a courier can be an
asset, and a fun character.

Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated. I whipped this
little brainstorming document up in about two days.
