My group is about to switch to SR4. so far, we've always completely
ignored deckers or had them as NPCs, because due to the way the
system works, they tend to play in a world of their own. But in
SR4, with the wireless matrix, it looks like a hacker (as it's
now called) can come with the group and do non-matrix stuff while
keeping an eye on matrix stuff through augmented reality.
Is my impression correct? Are hackers much more playable now?
Should I convince the GM to allow hackers?
Thing is, we're playing (just started) a campaign from a book,
and it plays before 2060. No wireless matrix yet, and the campaign
may not work properly with a wireless matrix.

Science is not the be-all and end-all of human existence. It's a tool.
A very powerful tool, but not the only tool. And if only that which
could be verified scientifically was considered real, then nearly all
of human experience would be not-real. -- Zachriel
