Mike P always said he was planning to remove the 'eye candy' but game 
destroying Netrunner and replace it with his original concept of an 
electronics and computer intrusion specialism who would run with the 
other players rather than in some dark room elsewhere.

I haven't seen the new book ( I don't think it's available in the UK 
yet) but the only think I recall being said about C-Ware was that Mike 
was creating a 'nation' where the citizens were borged at birth (or 
shortly after) thus taking the advantages already published rules of 
kids not suffering Humanity loss. I never heard anything about 
cybernetics being dumped.
