Yes, I agree. There were so many bad choices made to reach the end
product... It's just mind-boggling.

I mean, I can understand the reasons why most of the bad choices were
made. It's just that I feel the wrong decision was reached virtually
every time.

What kind of choices? Well, for example: In the third edition of
Cyberpunk, netrunning and cybernetics have been done away with. In
their place, we have were-whales.

I can understand the reasons why netrunning and cybernetics were
dropped. Classically, netrunning took a lot of time away from the game
as it required some lengthy one-on-one time between the referee and the
netrunner. Cybernetics had the humanity cost mechanic.

For CPv3, netrunning's time-consumption and cyberware's humanity costs
were to be done away with. But instead of, say, making it possible for
any/every character to run the net, and, say, simply declaring that
humanity cost was cured... netrunning and cybernetics were both just
dumped. Talk about throwing out the baby with the bathwater!

Speaking of water... I just have NO idea at all why were-whales were
added to the equation. I mean, really, who would have thought this
would be a good idea?

It's so strange. The technologies in CPv3 are, in many cases, so
mind-bogglingly advanced that they may as well be magic. (To wit:
antipersonnel program/nano-dust "Constructs".) And yet, nobody found a
way to cure cyberpsychosis or re-establish the Net? Groan.

Also, a pet peeve: the term "roadcars" is redundant and silly.
