I'm not sure it does either. People are difficult critters to deal
with.

I think I'd focus on your other players rather than the 'problem' one.
She's never fully accepted the mechanical side, so I think the social
will have to follow the same path of peer pressure.

This may not be useful, but I had trouble with one players displays of
bad s****tsman****p before (the die roll comments brought it to mind).
It was reduced in part from peer pressure and experiences he had going
to Warhammer or other mini tournaments where even worse s****tsman****p
was on display. I don't think it ever goes completely away, but it can
be reduced (as you noted) to unnoticed spikes.

She's likely thinking that respect was earned by the player instead of
by the character.
