My initial reaction is one of some degree of dismay. That was made worse
when upon looking over the announcement, Long speaks of the changes he
wishes to make and the much greater free hand he has now. Given that I
ended
up rolling back many of his changes in 5th edition, I don't see how this
can
be anything but bad.
It seems HERO is doomed to repeat the history of Fuzion. At least this
time
Long (a fine editor, but horrid game designer) will likely go down with
the
attempt. Perhaps like 4th edition, someone will come along and return the
game to its original concepts.
As to Long taking feedback, no way is that anything other than shallow PR.
He may take what's given that agrees with his viewpoint, but he'll
certainlly ignore the rest. Sadly, it seems that's his right. I have no
desire to waste my time on his board as a result.
