Thanks. That's one reason the mail servers aren't working that I
wouldn't have noticed immediately. So... after I reinstall MySQL and
manually re-enter the ~500 email addresses on the system, I get to
change the DNS records on 2 mail servers for each of 10 domains. Will
the fun never end? 

For those who know Linux, the problem is that I didn't include
the /var directory in my system back ups. I didn't think it was going
to be necessary since my web sites are all in user directories, but I
forgot that some other programs, such as MySQL and Mailman, use the /var
directory for data.
