I agree with your initial statement completely.
but that thinking doesn't apply to this megawad(or AV) as the skill
settings have been nicely implemented.
HR2 was made by gamers for gamers... in short, if it is too hard for
you, then it wasn't made for you.
I'm not trying to be rude(although that was rather rude if taken the
wrong way), but that was the reason HR2 was made.
Designed for the real game for real gamers.
now, getting back OT, I completely agree that ultra-hard, or really TOO
hard is not fun to play. this is a game, it is supposed to be fun.
take the fun out of it, and it is worthless.
and other than 15 and 26(and maybe a couple others), I think all the
maps are doable by most DOOMers. One of the best things about Hell
Revealed(the first one) is that it isn't really all that hard.
overall, the best kind of maps are the ones that are always fun to
play. HR and AV certainly have some of these... so do 'easier' mapsets
like LOH or Dmonfear.
I guess what I'm trying to say, if you load up the maps and you don't
like them, play something else. there's a lot to choose from. :)
