Though I can understand why you'd be angry, I suggest a few pieces of
netiquette:
A) Don't feed the trolls.
B) Don't expect a response from the trolls. They perform drive-by
postings,
spamming a lot of groups with the same crap. They don't care where they
post
or what they post, and they certainly don't read the groups they post to.
They
just want to cause trouble. There was a spate of anti-Jewish graffiti at a
school I once went to, which was stupid - I was living in a place packed
with
Caucasian Roman Catholics. There wasn't a Jew, quite literally, within
fifty
miles. Hell, there wasn't a Protestant within ten. To me, at least, it was
obvious that whoever was doing it was doing it not out of anti-Semitism,
but
to get the administration in a fit. Which they did. They trolled and
'succeeded'. This is what they're looking for.
C) If you must feed the trolls, please delete their screed from the reply.
Otherwise, you're just propagating their garbage for them; you'll get
around
other people's spam/crap filters, which may have already filtered the
original
post out based on suspicious headers, killfiles, crossposts, etc.
D) Kill the crosspostings. If you really still want to reply, only reply
to
the group where you read the troll. To the other groups, it looks like
you've
come out of nowhere with the express purpose of whacking people over the
head
with the original message. Imagine if someone left an obscene phone call
on
your answering machine, and then you called a friend who wasn't home,
played
it for their answering machine and said at the end "See! Isn't this
horrible!
Can you believe that someone would leave that on my machine!?" Cross-group
flamewars have broken out over this sort of thing.
