There were thousands of early WADs that were never posted to the archive, 
but showed up on CDs like "the S****pit of Doom" and such. I found those 
useful at the time because at the time I didn't have a modem, so couldn't 
even get to BBSs, let alone what existed of "the Internet as we know it" 
(and most BBSs were not in the UK anyway, so were way beyond the reach of
us 
Brits due to international phone rates). A lot of them are being posted to

the archive by a guy calling himself FunDuke (who has built a few modern 
levels himself, IIRC). In principle it is a good idea, but most TNC 
reviewers hate them because they take time to review and are very basic by

today's standards.
