He's okay. Stayed in the city during the hurricane, got out a few days
later 
with the other people in his building who stayed. IIRC, after a night or
two 
with relatives elsewhere in the state, he & the family went to a hotel in 
Houston. Haven't heard from him since then, but I know he's out of danger.
