This is an update to my previous post on this topic.
'DOOM 3 - Mr. Smiley Heads Safari', in the following abbreviated as
'd3safari', is an underground version of DooM.
The makers of d3safari were a group of young hackers, who called
themselves IMPACT. They have merged several previously existing levels
and enemy-replacements for DooM, that have been made by other people,
into an iwad, added some graphics and title-names by their own and
released that with a hacked executable to an unknown place in the net.
All the wall textures have not been changed and are still being
copyrighted material by id software. There are also the original
(copyrighted) graphics of the space marine (player) and the
Spider-demon
in the game. Distributing that *Doom 3: Mr. Smiley Head's safari* in
it's current form (as a standalone playable iwad with copyrighted
content and executable) is illegal.
But most of the components that have been used by Impact are freely
avaiable for download as addons to the legal full version of DooM.
This document is a reference to that free stuff, which can be legally
downloaded from the net.
The in the following mentioned authors have nothing to do with the
release of d3safari.

The 3d model of pacman, that has been used by Bill Neisius as a base

released it on his homepage:

*Former human*
The guy with the black leather jacket, who replaces the former human
with green hair and a pistol is originally from a file, called
Ctsdmg09.zip, that features digitized pictures of real-life persons as
doom-enemy-replacements for the Troopers and Sarges. It was made
avaiable by some people, who call(ed) themselves CREATORS.

The IMPACT-guys seem to have added a really big aiming-cross and
something like a fake status report on the upper left of the screen.
That gives it a cool look like a transparent interface or something
like
that.
Just for reference:
There are newer versions of *chook doom* by David Biggs avaiable at
the
ftp-idgames archive. But these are not the ressources from where the
IMPACT-guys have ripped the stuff for their Doom3-Safari-project. That
chook launcher from v. 2.3

http://www.gamers.org/pub/idgames/themes/chook/chookv23.txt

of *Chook Doom* have a brown color, that from *chook doom, v. 1.0* and
also d3safari is grey.

The status bar has been ripped from the following Wad:
