I'm enjoying the game but my main complaint with this game is the
claustrophobic level design. Admittedly it works for the atmosphere
they're trying to create, but the realist inside knows that one of the
reasons (if not the main one) for the cramped layout is to make the
game runnable on any current system. Even a medium-sized room already
takes a sizable bite out of top-end videocards, trying to do some of
the open-ended designs seen, say, some levels of Quake2 would surely
bring a $5000 extreme gaming machine to its knees.

Give nvidia/ati a coupla generations (just a year, nowadays) and we'll
have the "firepower" to combine this level of graphical detail with
more open level designs. But for the time, its hard to take this big
step back when you've become spoiled by the sprawling designs of games
like UT2004.
