Congratulations. I started playing Doom eleven years ago (14 years old).
I am now 25 and I still play it on a regular basis (several times per
week). I also make maps infrequently, and develop C++ code for it.
Doom is more than a game: it is a way of life.

Someone else mentioned Compete-N, which has a huge variety of demos for
the standard Doom levels and many add-on levels. There are 100% demos,
getting all kills, items and secrets as fast as possible; pure speed
runs, hitting the exit switch ASAP; pacifist, killing only the monsters
that must be killed (e.g. Cyberdemon in E2M8); Tyson, using only the
fist; and probably a few others I don't remember. Some of those demos
are quite entertaining.

You need a source ****t. My favorite is ZDoom: http://www.zdoom.org/
Source ****ts add features such as jumping, mouselook, high resolutions,
scripting, better performance, and Quake-style key binding. Here is a
more comprehensive list:

Doomworld is a decent site. There are forums there as well, I think it
is worth it to register an account. I mainly lurk there.
