Don't use IPX, use TCP/IP. No, it doesn't work with original vanilla
DooM engine, but there are newer and better engines that sup****t
tcp/ip play. I personally prefer prboom, which is an engine that plays
just like original DooM, except it has loads of new features that can
be used on new maps that. For normal DooM levels it features high
resolutions, accelerated OpenGL graphics *and* TCP/IP network game.
You have to start the game from command line, but that's not a biggie.
Good luck... You can find prboom for example by going to
www.doomworld.com and selecting "source ****ts" from the menu on the
right. prboom exists for windows and linux (I use linux).
