XiangQi Master

by Joss Wright <joss@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Oct 27, 2007 at 05:09 PM

Hello All,

Some time ago, I came across a Chinese-language cartoon about Chinese
Chess that was produced by Hong-Ying. I believe that they are actually a
Taiwanese company. The cartoon was called XiangQi Wang (象棋王 -
Chinese
Chess King/Master).

The first episode of this cartoon, subtitled in English, has been
available for download in various places on the Internet for quite some
time now. I quite enjoyed it as a bit of fun.

I have never managed to find any further episodes, however. I heard
reports of, I think, a total of twenty-six projected episodes. I also
found a report that Hong-Ying had won some awards for the cartoon.

This was over a year ago. I have a little knowledge of Chinese, but have
never been able to track down what happened to this cartoon. Are there any

Chinese speakers (or friends of Chinese speakers) who can give me any more

information? Was it ever finished and released? Was it broadcast in China
or Taiwan? If not, what happened?

Thanks a lot,

Joss
