On Sunday, May 4th, 2008, the Exposition Park Chess Club [http://
chess.expoparkla.com/] hosted a free, unrated, three-round chess
tournament at the Exposition Park Library in Los Angeles.
The tournament consisted of two quads and a Swiss System section
of six players. This latter section was assisted by Christophe Carter
who functioned as the tournament's house player. The tournament was
further assisted by Larry Neuton who was the event's photographer.
There were, therefore, a total of thirteen competitors who were
attracted to our tournament.
The names of the winners, together with their winning scores,
were as follows:
1st Quad: Dave Fernandez 3-0
2nd Quad: Victor Alarcon 3-0
Swiss System section: Atzael Perez 3-0
When not conducting tournaments, our club conducts a wide variety
of chess-related activities which include, but are not limited to,
social games, analysis of games, simultaneous matches against a rated
Master, and general chess instruction.
Our meetings are on Sundays, from 1:00 to 4:30 PM at the
Exposition Park Library. The Library's address and contact information
