Well it worked on my 10.3 system..  The only difference that I see is that
I
have a newer kernel installed (2.6.25-rc3-85-default).  I don't thik
you'll
need that new of a kernel but as the developer probably has a newer one
you
may consider updating your kernel..  Add this repository if you feel
lucky:

http://download.opensuse.org//repositories/Kernel:/HEAD/openSUSE_Factory

P.S.  After running 'make install' just type  'chessdb' to launch from a
terminal or make a shortcut..  Despite other posters (mis)information this
is all you need.
