The last text before that is the 1963 Hardback edition of _How to Play 
Winning Bridge_.  The last I checked, copies of this run in the range of 
$90 up from Amazon. The various paperback editions, which are to be 
found in almost any US used book store, tend to follow the 1958 text, 
which is less useful.  Some paperback editions give the 1968 text with 
the 1963 revisions given at chapter ends as optional methods.  If you 
find one of those, pay attention to those options, since they are 
sounder methods.
