Out of curiosity, how does this hand play in 2S (by North)? That is 
where I would likely end up with one partner, and it looks complicated 
but the 4-3 spade fit seems like it ought to create an extra trick, or a 
tempo, or something, making it possible to beat the pairs in 1NT.
