Thanks for the replies. I chose 3S, my major concern was that a club
ruff would kill the entry to the diamonds, so I wondered if anyone
would advocate rebidding diamonds.
Partner raised to 4S and RHO sacrificed with 5C. I realized too late
that an in tempo pass was best now, so after huddling for 10s I bid
5S. This was greeted by a double by RHO.
LHO led a club out of turn, partner accepted because she held:

result : two overtricks...
Doubling 5C would have yielded 500, as EW held no singletons.
