An exaggeration, but you could help out a little bit.

Quoting people in such a way that each level of quoting has an extra
level of >'s makes complicated threads in which A is replying to B
replying to C much easier to read.

Could you bear to use the link that puts the message you're replying to
in the textbox?  Then it would have all the quote markers and
attributions and you could then snip out the irrelevancies from that.
