These decisions are tied up in the question of what a minimum reopening 
double would be for your hand. Were an ace replaced with a small card in 
the same suit, would it be the same? What if you had held one fewer 
heart or club and one more spade?  Without those questions answered, 
your scenarios are too vague to consider.
