I would make a second double, rather than bidding 3S.

1. If partner has a good 4-card spade holding, we might get 800 in
2SX. (BTW, I will lead a trump against 2SX)

2. If partner pulls, I will have the information that he is not loaded
in spades and that may help me place the final contract more
accurately between 3NT and the minors.

On the actual auction, I guess to pass.

Club.

If opener had AKQJx of diamonds and KQxx of clubs, we would not be
defending 2NT, so I expect partner has ducked a diamond honor. A club
will take out declarer's last hand entry before the diamonds are
established.

counting to ten slowly then pass.

you'd like to get to 6NT, rather than 6D, but it may not be easy to do
so. Here is one possible auction:

3H-3S
4C-4D
4NT-5S
6D-P
