Partner's hand is a mystery beyond a reasonable certainty that he has a
heart void, which the opponents' bidding reveals. Presumably he is
showing the DA and denying the CA, which means you can reasonably expect
to take five spades, two red suit aces and three diamond ruffs. That,
however, leaves you short, unless his hand is something very much like
JT9xx - Axxx KJxx or better, and even there a bad club split can hurt
you very much. Such a hand, of course, is sub-minimal, but give him the
DK and his hand is much more likely. I suppose that the best I can offer
is that opposite a reliable partner, it will work. So it comes down to
who your partner is and, to a lesser extent, who your opponents are.
But 6S is not a bad shot -- at least not until the Lightner Double shows
up.
