The ace of diamonds is tempting, but it's not certain.
What if declarer has AKQ, KJ, QJ10xx, KJ9, and thinks of playing this
way to induce the diamond ace discard. That would be a coup! Or if
declarer has AKQ, Axx, QJ10x, KJ9, pretty much the same.
Trick 1 may be a clue. Why is declarer so anxious to tell us the club
position? The normal play would be to win trick 1 with the J (not that
it would fool anyone -- partner would play the 3 not the 8 from 983).
