Well, here's something I am fairly sure about.  You should not pass in the

first place and then bid over 1NT.   Partner is marked with 5+ hearts (LHO

has at most 4, RHO has at most 3), so you are on a probable misfit and 
don't have the values for game.  If you pass over 1S, you pass out 1NT.  
Partner's heart lead is not necessarily terminal for your side - you
likely 
have enough entries to still take 4 clubs and 3 top cards to beat 1NT.

But it is NOT a childish problem over 1S, Mr Leong.  A direct 2C is not a 
bad bid at all.  It could easily lead to a making partscore as compared to

letting the opponents make a partscore in say 2H or 2S if that's the way 
the bidding develops.
