After West leads a small diamond, Andy's suggested defense is for East
to duck the QD when it is led off dummy, giving declarer an entry for
the losing heart finesse.
Here, at least, a lead away from the KD would be quite normal - the
opponents have had a strong auction and clubs could be running, plus
the opponents are in a small slam, not a grand slam, so it could be
im****tant to build a winner in the unbid suit before declarer's fast
loser is lost.
Of course, Andy's nephew Archie failed to find the winning defense,
which he never finds (poor guy!).
