1. Both 1NT and 1D opening have merits. With kings to protect from leads,
1NT looks good. With 13HCP in aces and kings, 1D looks good for maybe
finding slam.
2. If I open 1D, my rebid is 2D. If I did not want to rebid 2D then I
should have opened 1NT in the first place.
In the actual auction 1D-1H-1NT-2C!-2D!-2H, I now bid 3NT accepting the
invite and avoiding a possible bidding accident from any other call.
