agreements are supposed to include "implicit agreements", formed
from your past auctions. They should also include meta-agreements,
such as "keep it simple".

When your explicit agreement is just "Cappelletti", then I believe the
opps are entitled to your understanding of the agreement. That's just
my opinion, but you try to tell me something different.

And they deserve to know the meaning of the other bids you didn't
make, when that is relevant.

While Law 75C focuses on agreements, the other laws do not. Law
40C(old) implies that opps have a right to know the meaning of your
bids. The new version:

40b4: "4. A side that is damaged as a consequence of its opponents’
failure to provide disclosure of the meaning of a call or play as
these laws require, is entitled to rectification through the award of
an adjusted score."

And Law 40A1
1. (a) Partner****p understandings as to the methods adopted by a
partner****p may be reached explicitly in discussion or implicitly
through mutual experience or awareness of the players.
(b) Each partner****p has a duty to make available its partner****p
understandings to opponents before commencing play against them. The
Regulating Authority specifies the manner in which this shall be done.

I do have heretical views (like 'just tell them the intended meaning
of your bid'), but these are not them. If this is what people mean
when they say "just re****t your agreements", then fine.

I don't know why are we having this off-topic discussion. Except the
above advice to OP looks good.

Hi Bob,

I don't know who the "we" is. Looks like your post is in response to
mine,
but I did not start any sideline discussion on Cappelletti or on any
specific laws. My advice was general and at least intended to be
on-topic.

Raija
