Me too and we give a definitive answer:

1 Club promises 15+ hcp and shows one of three types of hands,
Balanced, clubs primary (5 or more) or very strong.

At Gatlinburg (ACBL Regional), the auction went 1H - 2NT - 4H - - and
I asked (before my pass ending the auction) since there were no
alerts, "please explain the auction."  The opponents looked at me and
declarer then said 1H - 2NT - 4H.  I then asked about 2NT, it was
Jacoby.  The dummy did not like my tone of voice and said I should
have asked more explicitly.  I try to ask in this general manner to
avoid UI.  The opponents often appear unfamiliar with alerts, asking
about them, or explaining them fully only prompted by any inquiry.
