I wrote this before I read your reason for *why* you didn't want to
wait.  If your director's rulings are that bad, then in effect the
game isn't being run in accordance with the Laws anyway, so pointing
out that the Laws say you should have waited until the end might not
really be relevant.  But hopefully the discussion will be useful to
someone else in some future game with decent directing.
