Probably not, since most likely I wouldn't have discussed this sort of
auction with a pickup partner.

With my regular partner, however: he would have opened 2D (20-21
balanced), and I would have bid 2NT (transfer to diamonds).  Partner
then bids 3C if he likes diamonds and 3D if he doesn't.  If he
doesn't, I'm not going anywhere with this hand, so I'll probably just
sign off in 5D.  Over 3C, I don't know---maybe 4S?  Anyway, this could
be the kind of hand where having the 2D toy available pays off, but
I'm not sure.
