I play a direct 5D bid is a gambling bid and partner is not allowed to
speculate on bidding 6D.
With a better hand, I would Stayman first and then bid 5D. Partner
than can gamble to 6D if he wants to do.
Also, I play 3S forces to puppet to 3NT and then I bid:
4C =3D Diamonds
4D =3D Clubs
4H =3D Both Minors short in hearts
4S =3D Both Minors short in spades
4NT =3D Both Minors, balanced hand, invitational to slam

After 4C or 4D, if opener bids the next step that is conventionally a
space saing RKC asking for key cards. Consequently, a 4NT bid by
opener is natural.

On the given hand, I would bid 3S and then bid 4S. Next, I would
correct the contract to 5D over 4NT or 5C.
I really don't want to just show a single suited diamond hand as
partner with a near perfect prime card card holding such as S Axxx H
AJx D AKJ C Axx might put the partner****p into a hopeless grand.
However, when I show both minors with longer diamonds partner will get
the idea he needs to look at both his minor suit holdings.
